However with the demise of the Great Gorge Railway in 1938, the construction of a superhighway to Toronto, and excessive pollution strangling the river, the waterfront declined. The only activity was the piling of sand dredged from the river bottom. Beginning in 1978 the waterfront had a rebirth. The village trustees purchased the land and opened it up to fishing, and a launch was put into place. I so enjoyed the food and atmosphere at the Silo. A great place to visit and relax
Beautiful view. Took 45 minutes to get our food. Haystack was dry and unappetizing. Greek salad came with veggies that looked old and almost spoiled and no tatziki sauce. Kids chicken finger mean was OK. Would not recommend
The entire staff is amazing and lots of different menu items to choose from! I've never had a bad experience here!
Love the food and the staff. Highly suggest trying a chicken sandwich or the legendary haystack! Also love how they have so many healthy options!
From Canada, first time at the Silo. Thanks Adam. Ordered the Haystack, was great but didn't need the hash browns, extra cheese would have prefect with some onions.Great spot to view the river. Overall excellent.
