However with the demise of the Great Gorge Railway in 1938, the construction of a superhighway to Toronto, and excessive pollution strangling the river, the waterfront declined. The only activity was the piling of sand dredged from the river bottom. Beginning in 1978 the waterfront had a rebirth. The village trustees purchased the land and opened it up to fishing, and a launch was put into place. The silo offers amazing food with an awesome view. The staff is always very helpful and polite! The restaurant is very clean!! Highly recommended!
Every time I go to the Silo I am never disappointed! Nothing beats eating a haystack while enjoying the beautiful view or eating ice cream and watching the sunset. Can't wait until they open for the season!

My family and I always enjoy a good trip to the Silo! The food is great, the staff goes above and beyond to ensure an amazing experience and not to mention the amazing view!! Never disappointed😊

The Silo is hands down my favorite restaurant in Lewiston. The staff are always super friendly. The menu offers a variety of choices, including vegetarian options! Not to mention the view is breathtaking. Good for any and all occasions!!
