However with the demise of the Great Gorge Railway in 1938, the construction of a superhighway to Toronto, and excessive pollution strangling the river, the waterfront declined. The only activity was the piling of sand dredged from the river bottom. Beginning in 1978 the waterfront had a rebirth. A must if your in Niagara Falls. The area is beautiful. The food is wonderful. The view is spetaculiar. My only complaint is how I felt when I left. Very full from not wanting to leave the great food on my plate and sad since the place was so beautiful and no room for ice cream. I would plan on staying for awhile if you want to eat ice cream since the meals ( hamburgers) are huge!

We went to the the Silo Restaurant for the first trip of the new season as I was going through "Haystack " withdrawal. As usual the food and service was awesome. We can't wait to go back and try the new menu items.
This was our first visit, we have driven by many times. The food was great, we had 6 people and ordered 6 different items off the menu and each one was delicious. The food is great, the view is wonderful and the staff friendly. Can't wait to go back!!
Always a great time...beautiful view & delicious food. Great spot for out of town visitors.
