The "Shear" part referencing the scissors, and "Irish" because Pauline came to San Francisco from Ireland. The decor of the shop is inspired by Pauline's happy childhood memories of her grandmother's home, a traditional Irish cottage. She wanted to create an atmosphere that is laid back, comfortable, and home-like.

Pauline always gives me a flattering haircut that stays looking good for weeks. She has also recommended affordable products that have improved the health of my hair. She's great to talk to and you feel very relaxed and comfortable there. And the price can't be beat!

OMG ~ these sweet ladies saved my life in a pinch...I had a bit of a “hair emergency” and was able to see them last minute for a major color correction - was so happy to discover this little gem of a salon....great team work, hospitality, amazingly cozy ambiance and....bonus ~ great music! Love, love love these girls ~ they rock! And I loved my hair.....
