If they knew how to read, or bothered to read an ICD interrogation report, my daughter wouldn’t have had to go through the psychological stress of not knowing what happened to her. Instead what would have been maybe an overnight stay, turned into 3 days. Of course the tests weren’t done until the 3rd day. That’s right - NOTHING was done on the second day. She saw her legitimate cardiologist in Norfolk yesterday. It took him 5 seconds to look at the report Albemarle scanned into the system and see that her ICD had shocked her... read more

I was admitted last week for my heart issues. I passed out and woke up with mini stroke like conditions. They interrogated my ICD (I had to basically tell the tech how to do it) and then nothing was ever looked at. They ruled my case as syncope. Very poor communication. The first day they did ZERO tests and just made me sit in a bed all day. The docs on call promised they talked to my cardiologist at SNGH and later found that wasn’t the case. I asked to be sent to SNGH, the doc on call said sure it will take 1 hour for paper... read more

I was warned to go to Chowan and not here, by multiple people. The Sentara nurses line recommended I go to an ER. I was in and out of the ER in less than two hours. They did a urine test and that’s all, they didn’t question or look for the reason of my pain or blood, they just sent me home. I didn’t even see a doctor, I saw a PA. I have a history of these symptoms related to other kidney problems and an autoimmune disease. They didn’t do an ultrasound or ct scan or look for any kind of bladder infection. I left the ER still ... read more

This place is a joke. The patient care is horrible. You are left in the waiting room to die. You then see a nurse practitioner who ask u a few questions and sends u on your way. even if u try to ask questions they push u out the door. thank God Norfolk only a 45 minute drive so I could go get probably treated

I am laying in this ER right now in excruciating pain, so bad that I’m shaking. The doctor that I have is refusing to give me anything for pain that helps. He’s offering me all of these meds that I know for a fact won’t work. This is awful. This man thinks that I’m drug seeking or whatever and I’ve never had a problem with drugs in my life. This is torture!
