Chris was really helpful helping me to recover a failed external hard drive. While I ultimately decided not to move ahead with the recovery due to cost constraints, Chris kept me informed about progress along the way. He provided me with a range of options and went out of his way to look for workable solutions within my budget. It's nice when you come across someone that does their job well – just because – and Chris is one of those dudes.
I was impressed with Chris McMacken and the folks at Secure Data Recovery as they recovered the contents of a failed hard drive - These guys are professionals and thorough. Nearly all of the data was salvaged. After having a local repair shop look at my external drive and wasn’t able to fix it, I was recommended to send it to Secure Data. Chris at Secure Data was fairly certain they could recover everything, but needed to have it sent to them to verify. After about a week of having my device I received notice they should be able to recover everything and the cost. Our recovered data represents a career's worth of scientific research, and its loss would have been a disaster for my wife's work in retirement as an academic consultant and public speaker.
