The rooms are nice the beds are so comfortable but the staff was truly awesome! The elevators were broken the whole time we were quest and had to be manually operated it added a nostalgic charm
The dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in!!!! My entire family is sitting/sleeping on the chairs. There is NOT 1 thing I can say positive about this place!!! I wouldn't stay here for free!!!! GROSS!!!
Wow. I've grown up in Marriott hotels and this is certainly not what I would expect from a Marriott. The elevators were struck by lightening a month ago and they have to be manually operated, meaning you have to call the desk to request an elevator and wait for it. The air conditioner in the lobby and the hallways seems to have met it's match in the Georgia summer! The carpet and the paint appear old but maybe that's because we're in a historic district. Awful! Don't stay here ... I am sleeping on a chair despite calling front desk 4 times and speaking to a manager ... Musty, hot, and terrible service... Stayed at Hilton at beginning of trip Which was 10000x nicer.. Excuses include "lightning struck the elevators"... " we are oversold" .. "the manager is out buying air mattresses"..."they bought are mattresses but the pumps blew out"..."riverfront=contsruction view"..."oh u needed two beds for 4 people"...."no valet..oh he parked your car? she shouldn't have done that".."red... read more
terrible weekend, certainly not Marriott standards (I hope) - not even concerned when I told them about my issues - will never stay there again, and to think Marriott is trying to sell us a vacation package!
We had five star service from this hotel! Came in on Memorial Day weekend and our other hotel messed up our reservation and we ended up having to sleep in our car the first night in an awful part of town. We paid more money to get another room at the Marriott riverfront the for the second night and at 7:30 in the morning they got us into a room on the spot regardless of the time, upgraded to a suite room, gave us champagne and strawberries and a complimentary breakfast.
