We also feature many creative dishes using local items in combination with rare Japanese ingredients. From pork belly to wagyu steak to tsukemono pickled local and Japanese vegetables. We also feature a wide variety of sake, wine, Japanese craft beer, and Japanese whisky with many fresh and creative Japanese cocktails.

Full disclosure, already a big fan of all the SATO locations. But last night we had the best experience at SATO on Elmwood. Super accommodating when my husband and I walk in weary and cold with two small children in tow. Many places frown upon seeing kids roll in, but not the AWESOME and lovely host. She and the bartender were super cool, set us with the large table across from the bar, and fed us wine and delicious food. Ever so grateful for good hospitality and food and you guys rock. Lovely server. Yummy food. Cool cocktails. Interesting menu. BUT....PLEASE! Accessibility issues in the 21st century!? Help! STEEP stairs! Or, the really tight & tiny counter stools. We “made do” with the large table, squished into the middle of the entrance area, sitting on high, backless stools - not much help for one with mobility issues! Yikes! Even to reach the back patio which could have been an option, one must go UP stairs and then DOWN stairs! How about a nice, comfy table w/ real chairs in that entrance area? Would... read more
