Lakeside bistro featuring local and sustainable ingredients. Sardine is located in the historic Machinery Row building (est. 1846) on the shores of lake Monona, in the heart of Madison, Wisconsin. Our menu features artisanal cheeses, fresh shellfish and seafood, braised and roasted meats. Bar opens at 4:00 and offers signature drinks, local and imported tap beers and a well-rounded wine list. Saturdays and Sundays brunch is served from 9-2:30.

One of the best spots in Madison. Food’s always great as well as service. Never disappointed.
We were a party of 6 - Atmosphere was nice, seating at 6:45pm, not a full house. Our drinks took over 20 minutes,appetizers of oysters, pate and various meats board very good, dinners not out together or timely, ran out of special, ran out of potatoes, ran out of lamb balls all of which I ordered! Had only steak on menu very under whelmed had no taste nothing special. Had a first date here the other night, and I’m devastated nobody has ever brought me here before! I’ve spent ages looking around the area for someone who can make an Aviation (my favorite cocktail) and here you are! Please continue to be perfect!

We were looking for a place to eat while biking around Lake Monona; the concierge at our hotel recommended this place. However, she neglected to mentioned in biking attire, we may be under dressed. That a side, we were treated wonderfully by staff. Our meal was very good, so good we treated ourselves to dessert as well. Would highly recommend, especially for a special occasion.

food is good, oysters are fresh and a several kinds to choose from, good experience and a very cool location. deck seats are the best - weather permits..
