Love this place! Staff is friendly, location accessible to cable car and great food. Reasonable $$$$. Clean. Charming - everything from the brass and wainscoting to sky lights and antiques. Been here several times and is consistent.

I believe I can confidently say that this is the best hotel I've ever stayed at... Hotels make me nervous, even the nice ones... Like I'm staying at a fussy old lady's house and I can't touch anything for fear of breaking it. They're usually impersonal and devoid of charm. San Remo breaks that mold. Great location with lots of old fashioned San Francisco charm. You give up some convenience's like the bathrooms and showers are down the hall but an affordable price for a convenient location. It also sits above a nice Italian restaurant.
