Staff is Helpful AND Polite I have been a customer here since my favorite shop closed 2-3 years ago "Studio City Camera Exch." What I really like about Samy's is that they they know their stuff. I'd rather shop somewhere where the sales people are knowledgeable and educated and they are not there to tickle my fancy, rather than to go to a mall type store where they are really nice and polite and courteous, but they don't know anything about what they are talking about.
Unless you're a pro shooter, don't bother This franchise is a great outlet for those well-versed in the nuances of photography. If you're just learning, don't bother though, as the staff could give you the time of day. They'd rather focus on those who already know what they're doing. This type of arrogance is very annoying, and intimidating, only reinforcing the snobbishness that permeates the art world. PROS: great selection CONS: staff is rather snobby. Not enough salespeople
That's How I Want It I needed a quick replacement for my underwater camera while on assignment. It was unbelievable to me but it took them just 5 minutes and I was set. I did not have to explain anything. The Samy's guy knew it all. Fantastic. Clean, honest and precise. That's how I want it.

phenomenal staff I had a great experience at Samys in Santa Ana! The staff really knows what they are talking about and helped steer me away from spending money on things I didn't need. The salesman who helped me was polite and funny and listened to my newbie questions. I learned a lot of what I thought I knew already!
