Your nurses Staci and Heather in the ER, and Tyler and Jessica on the 5th floor were all awesome and attentive professionals. They all made my stay as comfortable as could be and I appreciate their care. Your nurses ROCK!!
This is a TERRIBLE hospital. Do not come here. I went to West Florida and was put on a vent and sedated and transferred here without my knowledge. The staff is RUDE. I was in ICU on a vent for 4 days and I'd call and they'd never come. One nurse yelled at me and told me she didn't like me and when I asked the arrogant doctor to be transferred back to West Fl he said he couldn't send me back to an "inferior" hospital. My girlfriend got transferred here from West Florida due to what appeared at the time to be a stroke. She was kept sedated and on a ventilator for 2 days during which time they did ok. During this time and afterward she would go into convulsions but they weren't sure why. They were able to get her off vent and afterwards they did some EEG's on her head and determined it wasn't neurological in nature. I received the worst care ever! Been here 6 days I have not been able to the take a shower.They say the shower has been broke in the 5th floor for 2 months.When its time for meds I'm running 2 and 3 hours behind. The nurses are really rude.Housekeeping sucks.I requested housekeeping they came in and said they will be right back.They never came back in.I have been laying in pain for over 12 hours.They keep giving me norco that keeps coming back up.
Today my daughter was seen, if you can call it that, by the ER department. She was brought in for a head injury but never received any exam for the injury. Speaking with the charge nurse or the supervisor, Sandy, did nothing to address the situation. Everyone's response... bring her to another hospital for a neurological exam. My husband just recently had a three day stay at the hospital and I couldn't be more impressed and thankful for all of the hard working, and very caring nurses and doctors we had while there. They gave not only my husband great care and service but also me and my family as well. They made us feel at home even though we were away from home and made our stay much more comfortable. Thank you Chelsea, Brandi, Carla, Jessica, Craig, Kristen, Nicole and Mary! Y'all were great!!!
My son went to Baptist ER in Gulf Breeze and was transfered by ambulance to SH. He has been in there since Saturday night. The staff in PICU has been grest and very helpful. My son is only 6 months old and is quickly on his way to recovering because of the amazing team work they have on the pediatric icu level. Thank you for putting our minds at ease and helping our family.

Sometimes your experience is all about your attitude. I love the hospital and everything about it. From the birth of my son in 1992 until my most recent visit, every experience has been exceptional. Has there been problems? of course. Most of them had to do with my perception of what was going on, not actually what was happening.
