The idea for Ruby’s Diner was born in 1980 after a run on the beach. Doug Cavanaugh had just returned to his native Southern California after successfully restoring and running a restaurant on Nantucket Island off Cape Cod. We couldn't get help at the window, when we went inside, we were ignored. We were charged incorrectly when we finally did get outside service, our order was wrong.

Always fantastic dining at Rybys Diner. Wonderful atmosphere with a marvelous view.
We visited Huntington Beach in September 2018 during our trip to LA from Australia. We had lunch at Ruby's. Food was really nice, staff super friendly and helpful. loved the location.
