I am a long-time Roto-Rooter customer (more than 25 years). Up until now that has only been for plumbing problems. But this time it was for a leak and I needed water mitigation. It was by far the worst experience I've ever had from a national company (understanding that I've working with the local branch). I would ask for documentation for the insurance company repeatedly but never would get it. I finally called the main office and told the manager how many times I had asked for the documents. How this company is still in business is absolutely amazing. They came out, charged us $713 (which was the lowest of options) to snake our sewer drain. Of course, 55ft deep, they ran into a problem. The field supervisor came out, ran his camera through the line and showed me a break in the **** piping (I have no idea what Im looking at through a grainy black and white image, but ok, I believe you). We had a backup which they tried to snake. They couldnt get the clog out so they had to bring in the pressure washer to flush it out since its stronger. They told us we had a 15ft crack in our sewer line and said it would need replaced since that was the root cause of our backup (Which we planned to do in the fall when its cooler out). They cleared the clog and said we had a 6 month warranty on that 1k dollar clean out so I felt ok about waiting it out. Used Roto-Rooter in **********, ******** to snake out a pipe from our sink to the waste pipe in our upstairs guest bathroom. The contractor told us it needed to be snaked before he put in a new sink.RR of ********** wanted to charge $500, then agreed to $400. Apparently because the pipe is old and galvanized, the roto-rooter put a hole in it near the threads They did not do any check for leaks before they left. We called Roto Rooter slow draining and a weird sound when our bathroom drain was draining.Roto Rooters charged an absurd amount of money, while they were working on the drain they pulled something that out that they were not supposed to and water started pouring from our kitchen ceiling. We never had water issues from our kitchen ceiling prior. They told me they fixed the drain and went on their way.The drain as not fixed. Call to unclog kitchen sink, was charged $355. After the job was completed, had leakage in line. Leakage was caused by work Roto-Rooter did to unclog the line per second Plumbing company called to repair, after calling Roto-Rooter back to repair their damage they caused, they wanted to charge another $330 plus hourly rate to repair. After I disagree to the price, they billed me for a 5 minute job to open up and see where the leak was. Price gauging at it BEST!!PS - Cost to repair by the other company -$175. i called roto rooter in **********,**** told them i had a leak at my well pump.they stated they could come out if i paid 50 dollars on my credit card to cover the first inspection. i agreed. the gentleman arrived at a rough pre determined time he located and fixed the problem in a little less than 1 hour,,he then informed me the repair would cost 565..dollars......i told him that was highway robbery .he went into a long story about they ran a business and their was lot of expense including his VACATION PAY!!!!! so on top of ... read more
