Charged us $500 and did not fix the problem, told us several things that needed to be done in order to fix it... wanted more money to do some extensive work. Called a different company and they came right away and fixed our problem for $200. I do not recommend Roto Rooter. I think they are squeezing every dime they can out of their customers, whether the work is actually needed or not.

Had extensive work done last month after roots started growing in my drain. I was recommended 3 patches be placed in my drain to prevent additional basement flooding. While working, the technician claimed I needed a new sewer clean out because he couldn't get the patching equipment into the old one, and so we had them put that in. They then jetted the line, clearing out any additional roots, and "installed" 3 patches, totalling out to 12 thousand dollars (not counting previous work clearing the drain and scoping it out). My 75-year-old mother (who is currently living alone) called Roto Rooter to get a small cap out of a drain in a bathroom. She was quoted a $60 fee and was satisfied with that estimate so asked to also replace the drain stoppers in two sinks in the same bathroom. There were 2 employees on the job, they were in the home for an hour max and charged her $800! This is price-gouging, taking advantage of the elderly and grossly unacceptable.

Called local roto rooter and was sent technician from Solon oh office...the problem was when we turned on the heat heat had been off with the few days of warmer weather in Ohio beginning of April) we smelled sewer and have a home on a slab....we couldn’t readily tell where it was coming from but turned off heater and called roto rooter-was given the 12-4 timeframe and no technician showed up-I called and said for them to come out the next day-the technician walked in and said “wow mam smells like u have a dead animal somewhe... read more

Horrible customer service and after-sales experience. My house first had a pipe blockage Roto Rooter sent an unprofessional technician who provided a wrong diagnosis, provoked my tenant to leave, double-charged the blockage clear up service, and as a result, led to another blockage and consequently a water overflow which cost us $38K total. Reported the issue to senior management but the technician was fired when I reported so they were like "this is none of our business as the employee is gone". Please do not use this company. They employ ghetto call center reps and all the company really care about is the pay out. Do not use them to detect a water leak. Their workers are not equipped to to find a leak. Be careful they will make holes in your walls. Please listen to my warning. All around bad service.

Called them, same day service on a Monday for my mothers home, clogged kitchen drain. I asked them to have service person call me before with a price, as my 85 yr old mom is extremely hard of hearing. This was not done. The service person rooted the drain in les than 25 minutes and charged her 500.00. A local company would have been half that amount. Will never use again, prices are outrageous!

First I'd like to start with the service I had with a different tech from another location from this company was great. I called and requested him to but I was given other employees. Now onto my situation. I called the Saturday morning before Easter with an issue and had a supervisor over to inspect what was happening. He told me a plumber would be by in a few hours to take a look.
