One of the worst days of my life. Took dog there because of diarrhoea figured I would get some meds and go home. Ended up having to put him down. Dr. Kraus (Esterly) was very thorough and explained everything. She told me he hid it well. The whole staff was very compassionate and caring. Gave us all our options, which weren't many, their recommendation but only when asked, gave us all the time we needed even though it was closing time They really care for the animals and felt as bad as we did. Dr. Scott and his staff are always SO caring and professional. Like family!! I drive from Grand Rapids to take my animals here.
It may be a bit of a drive for me (3+ hours), I wouldn't go anywhere else! Trustworthy, knowledgeable, compassionate, and extremely reasonable. Highly recommend.
We have been going to Riverbend since our first visit there with kittens. From our first contact, even on the phone, we were amazed at the friendly, helpful, caring staff and vets. We have needed ongoing care for one cat this past year. The high standard of care and clinical expertise continues to impress us and we are so grateful for all they do. I also appreciate that their prices are reasonable and it makes it possible to care for our pets.
We were camping in Morley and brought our dog into Riverbend in extreme crisis. Although he had never been seen there before, the staff rushed to assist us. Although our dog did not make it, we were treated with respect, compassion and professionalism. My family truly appreciates everything that was done for us and Zeus. Sadly they're the only vet in Big Rapids that sees ferrets. Because of them not even being that knowledgeable about ferrets my little boy has passed away. The past few days he was not eating or drinking anything and wast struggling to potty. Tried telling us that raw food is bad for ferrets (who are obligated carnivores and need raw) and to feed Marshalls Ferret food (Marshalls ferret food is meant to kill them within 4 years) at times wouldn't even see my ferret because they didn't think it was major (ferrets when ill can d... read more
