I had surgery here on May 13 for stage 3c rectal cancer. When the pre op meeting with the surgeon was set up I really expected it would be a quick in and out kind of thing, boy was I wrong! Dr.Holcomb spend just over an hour explaining every step that was going to happen even the fact that due to the size and location of the tumor I would have a permanent colostomy bag. Omg! Best visit ever. The staff was really helpful and the doctor Mathew J.Rose. He was a great doctor and super cute in the E.R.
I don't know why some people have rated this hospital anything under a 5! They must be grouchy! I'm on Medicare, I was treated with the utmost respect, & best possible care! All doctors & nurses, aides, housekeeping, just everyone I came into contact with are caring wonderful people! Everyone that took care of me on tower B3 are the best! Thanks for caring!
Worst hospital in this area - maybe even close to Riverview Hospital's lack of care or knowledge. You go to the 'Internal Medicine' doctor assuming his knowledge would assist in diagnosing your illness and pain. Instead, with all of the 'abnormal' tests results that you have to look up in the patient portal (vs someone calling you with them) they tell you 'its normal'. Abnormal does NOT = Normal! So then they say, 'well go to the ER'. Now...why would you tell me to go to the ER if all my tests were what you are referring to ... read more

Two weeks after EEG and still no results. No one seems to care and no one can give an answer.
The nurses and staff was great, had excellent care. If you would have to be hospitalized, this is one great place.
During my hospital stay there was an obvious nursing shortage! I had to wait for a nurse to assist me to the bath room and bring my pain medication on average at least 30 minutes and sometimes almost 45. Hope I never have to go back. The nurses were professional & nice just not enough to care for the patients.
I would go back to IU North over any other hospital in the area. They took great care of me!
