A slightly delayed review of Retreat East. My wife and I stayed in The Nook for a night and loved it. Our package included spa access and breakfast the next day. We decided to cook in our lodge for the evening. What a slice of paradise. This luxurious retreat is now super popular and I have seen it featured on television several times since our stay. Great location and restaurant, however not so impressed with my treatment. I chose to have a gel manicure, only 1 layer of gel was used and 4 days in my nails are chipping. I made a complaint the day after my treatment and have heard nothing back. Certainly not with £65!
We stayed in The Piggery with our dog. Would have liked a full length mirror and a magnifying shaving mirror. No daily service of room either which for the cost per night would have been nice. Should have had milk in room and dog bed which weren't there when we arrived but they quickly supplied. Breakfast included is continental only and cooked is quite an expensive extra. We had a really lovely 2 night stay here. Room was clean and the outside bath was glorious! We came for my partners birthday and a little gift was there on arrival which was a nice touch. Spa was easy to book and we enjoyed the steam room and sauna. We booked for dinner on the first night, a mix up of orders occurred and we had an hour long wait for food however this was rectified by our waitress and she couldn’t have done more to make sure we had a lovely time.
