Somewhere between decent and amazing – Large, varied, interesting menu. A little overpriced, but not as expensive as some of its competitors. Cozy, warm ambience. Great desserts and appetizers. Friendly, unpretentious service (a rarity in SF these days).
Disappointment – First, the hostess told me (quote) "I have this tabled booked for another party in 2 hours, so please keep that in mind". Second, The waiter was slow, condesending and very unfriendly. He practically rolled his eyes as he walked away when we didn't go with his upsell. Third, the chicken wasn't fully cooked. Fourth, the sauce on the muscles linguini tasted like Ragu. This is in my top 3 of worst restaurants of SF.
Great Food! – I loved the food, however it was very loud and crowded. This restaurant is good for hanging out and having a great meal. Not a great spot for a romantic date, or a place to be alone. Definetly make reservations.
Casual Group Dining – This place looks like a nice but loud cafeteria dining hall. There are long wooden benches and no table clothes. Good place for a birthday party but not for a quiet intimate conversation-filled dinner. They have a varied menu that is asian-italian-californian-mixed style. Everything from duck to pasta to pizza to ahi tuna. The food is pretty good and flavorful though a bit on the oily side. Nothing particularly stood out although everything tasted pretty good.
Decent, but Think Twice – Not bad, but not great. There is a lot better value in the Bay Area. Had a large party, a waiter was great and knew the menu better than the owner. Not large portions, so fill up on wine and bread. And when you get the bill, get ready because it is going to be hefty... I'm on the fence about recommending to friends. But I Will go back someday, 1) with a smaller crowd 2) when i am rich.
great casual and stylish big city fare – wonderful! all the way around quality. great for groups, family and superb service. fantastic food. i love this place.
UUUGH! – Very Snotty! I could have done without the music. It seemed that as the night went on the music got louder and weirder. At one point I thought there should be a belly dancer comming!
Wonderful – We walked in on a Sunday night around 8pm and although it was busy, we were able to get a table right away. The service was very good (thank you Paul!) and the food was scrumptious. Had the "Taste of Provence" salad and champagne featured special, plus oysters, a sampler of their various hot and cold appetizers (pate', mousse, bacon tart), plenty of rustic bread and butter and we split the Black Angus prime rib dinner. It was all wonderful. We crafted our own flight of French wines, and it was a delight to choose... read more
