We enjoyed a one night stay en route to Brighton, so a perfect location midway from Cheshire. Staff friendly. Restaurant food excellent quality with big portion sizes; we chose 4 starters to have as a tapas type meal and it was 5/5 from us ! The only sad part was it was empty, only one couple dining which made it lacking in atmosphere, but the maitre de was very nice, charity, and made a great suggestion for wine to pair with our dinner. Went on alfa trip for 5 days holaday our room as nice But 38 steps to get to it ! We did ask for 1 st floor room!! Breakfast was nice Help your seif buttet Evening meal was very bad small portions and undaer cooked food ! 1st night we whiteied 50 mins before eneyone got starters ! We eat out 2 times at nrby restranrt I dont tink they do many coach tours at this hotel
Hopefully the front / older part is better. Context here. It's one night, there's 2 of us we're bed and breakfast and it's less that 100 quid. Location is really good. Staff that I dealt with are decent and if I expected more then I should have put my hand in my pocket and pay more elsewhere. The next explanation. Hotel is in 2 parts old part (historic bit), new part (built in the 70's). We were in the new part but the rooms and decor is now just very tired, shower a bit rusty, tiles a bit mouldy.
