The woman that checked us in at the ticketing counter at United was amazing! We had 3 bags, one was over the 50lb weight limit by 3 lbs. she gave us a minute to move some things around. It was going to be $85 to check our 3 bags. I open my wallet and she sees my military spouse card and asks my husband if he's active duty. He says yes and she smiled and said our bags were free, up to 3 per person and our weight limit increased to 70 lbs per bag! Way to go United! The last 3-4 times I fly in it takes over 30+ minutes to get our luggage. It's after midnight now and our luggage still isn't here after 30 minutes. When is RDU going to address this issue?
Security made me miss my flight then another security person said "Maybe you should have been here sooner." I WAS HERE AN HOUR AND TEN MIN before my flight left! THEN when I went to get another ticket the woman at the counter had the worst attitude ever!! NEVER will I fly through RdU again! Never!
This is such a tough thing for me to write because this could be the best airport in the country and yet from an engineering and management standpoint it's such a disappointment. Took me 20 minutes to find parking in the farthest lot possible and then a 20 minute walk to the terminal. Luckily I have status and the security line was very small. Barely made my flight.
Quite possibly my favorite airport ever. (Terminal 1 anyway) a great experience all around
They need better food. It's mediocre at best. Eat before arriving.
