Dr Smalley showed me my shoulder x-ray and pointed out the arthritis, bone spur and lack of spacing in that joint. He listened very closely to what I had to say and answered all my questions. I have a nickel allergy and he reassured me saying they have an all-titanium prosthesis they can use to replace my shoulder joint. I am planning on proceeding with this in the future. Dr.Ballard did a total knee replacement on my left knee in Sept 2022....he did an amazing job and I recovered quickly....Yesterday, July 24th he did a total knee replacement on my right knee....it is feeling great today, because of the wonderful surgeon he is!! The whole office staff function well together. From start to finish you knew exactly what was going on and what to expect. He cared about me as a person not just 'another knee surgery'. He always took time to listen to my concerns and answer my questions. I never felt rushed. My surgical procedure went well without any complications. Before surgery he explained the procedure and even showed me an artificial knee. He did not push me to have the surgery. He answers my questions & explains the solutions to the issues. Seems honest & trustworthy. He has done 2 hand surgeries on me previously & treating me now for the other hand.
This was my first visit to assess my bone on bone arthritic knee. The staff was excellent from the front desk to the techs, CNAs and nurses. Dr Ballard spent an hour with me explaining my conditions and my options. He was kind, empathetic, and precise in his explanations. I’ll be having the surgery in about 8 weeks. I trust this man. .
Thoroughly diagnosed my knee issue checking for any underlying problems. Treatment worked great!
