Prevent A Litter Veterinary Hospital is the first low cost, non-profit, spay/neuter clinic to open in Virginia. Since 1999, we have performed over 97,000 surgeries for cats, dogs and even rabbits! This has significantly reduced the number of homeless animals entering shelters and roaming the streets. We also provide low cost vaccines on a walk in basis for any cat or dog that has been spayed or neutered. We take pride in the high quality of our work and are looking forward to our 100,000th surgery coming up in late 2016!

Our kitten was spayed and P.A.L. Was great! Can’t beat the prices but just as important was the car she received while in their care. They truly care about their patients!!
I think it's great what they do here but I will never go back. It was my first time getting my rescue doggie her vaccines. It was an hour of anxiety. The staff did not help one bit with the waiting room chaos. My dog is sweet as can be but by the end of having about 10 dogs snap at her it was too much.
Business response:
I'm very sorry you had a bad experience. I wish we had a bigger lobby and more help but we do the best we can with what we have. Doing vaccines on a walk in basis without an appointment can be very chaotic. I understand that there are some animals that will not do well in those situation and that it can be very stressful.
I brought both of my bunnies to PAL! I was nervous because you hear so many horror stories of buns that dont make it through these routine procedures but PAL was amazing for us!! Both bunnies recovered quickly with no additional issues. I love that PAL makes these procedures affordable so we can keep the buns as healthy as possible.

Anyone that gives this place less than 5 stars clearly had their own issues they’re taking out on PAL for whatever reason¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The lady at the front desk was very comforting and could tell I was worried about my sweet boy. We got there at 8:15, and they called me at 11:30 to tell me he was all done with surgery and could even be picked up early. They were very clear in their after-care instructions, and referred to my dog by name, which I felt was an extra personal touch the... read more

We love seeing you and your Australian Shepherds!😀
This is such a great company. The price is amazing for the job they do. They go above and beyond to care for your pet. I recently took my 9 month old kitten in to be spayed. She was groggy, and not eating for 3 or 4 days after the surgery. I was able to contact PAL on a Sunday, and they told me to immediately bring (her) back in. They kept her overnight, and did everything in their power to make her healthy again. These people actually care, and I couldn't praise them enough. Please keep up the good work!
