I was registered at a practice in Leicester when I was at university after coming back to Wolverhampton I registered back with Prestbury Medical Practice when it was on Prestbury Road West before they move to Bushbury. I haven’t needed the doctor till now, going through private they require the details of the NHS GP so they can update them on anything should they need to. I called Prestbury to see if I’m still registered and to get my NHS number, the lady asked for my date of birth and full name, she said I’m not registered.... read more

The doctors at this surgery are very good although it’s not always easy to get an appointment although they now have online triage system. Most of the problems are admin related so you can fall through the cracks due to different agencies not communicating effectively. There are so many different computer systems in the NHS that it’s sometimes difficult to have a complete overview of a particular patient. Some idiot rang me to arrange a call in two weeks time in response to having received the results of a bone density scan I had eight days ago . The scan took five weeks to materialize even though when I went for it there were no other patients to be seen in either the corridor or the waiting room ????? Anyway back to the idiot . I told him this was unacceptable and needed to see the doctor face to face . He said he was unable to do that , so I said I would come in and see the head of practice . Surprise surprise t

So far the online booking system seems to be working. Appointments have promptly been arranged without the dreaded 8am call. Receptionists seem more helpful too.
