The Pleasant Cafe has been specializing in Italian and American food since the late 1930s. All of our sauces, dough, soups, gravy are made daily in house. We are known for our pizza which brings in customers from all over New England. Hand rolled thin crust cooked to perfection with a cheese blend that was shredded that day from a large block of cheese. What could be better? Bring the whole family, dine happily and leave without breaking the bank.

If you want a true trip back to the era of great Italian food, waitresses who combine attitude and motherly treatment, this is your place. Love everything about it!
Grew up just a short walk away and knew the original owners/founders as well as the longest serving bartender, George Pirelli, who spent 55 years patrolling behind the bar. Place rocks for pizza and their open-faced veal cutlet sandwich. Only drawback is they don't start serving pizza until 4 pm. Waitresses can hold their own with any from Durgin Park, another Boston institution...worth the trip!

I love the pleasant Cafe I have been going there since the 60s. I started going there with my mother we lived across the street in the Projects. Then I used to meet my friends and now my daughter is 30 and she's been going there. Its 3 generations of going to the Pleasant Cafe I'm so happy it looks like same. Always have to have the Famous Pizza. Great memories
