This place is a joke. They don't except anything when trying to sell and they over charge for everything when trying to buy. I took hundred's of items in and the employees were to conceded and lazy to even look through and just turned it all down. If you don't look perfect enough they don't even give you the time of day. I wasted 2 hours of my day driving there and back not to mention gas. I will never recommend them to anyone or return to the store.

My writing has nothing to do based on the merchandise that they carry it strictly has to do with what they offer I brought in several things and they have said it's outdated out styled and has holes or Exedra when none of my clothing has had that including the holes and I guess it's just disappointment when you spend the money on clothing and then you guys are looking at it to buy it too sell it as a gently used items and I've seen things in your store that's a lot worse than what I brought in I've seen the girls go through ... read more

Because of the fast-changing trends, we buy current styles that have sold in the mall stores in the past 6 months to a year. I brought in 7 pairs of barely worn designer jeans, 5 pairs of Rock revivals, 1 pair of miss me's and 1 pair of Big stars, all in great condition. All they had to offer me was $196 (and if you know those brands ONE pair alone is over that price) They offered me $16 dollars for a pair of Big stars that originally retail at $180. All of them barely worn and in great condition! Can't believe Plato's, will not be going there to sell again.

I worked at Plato's closet for about a year, and although retail was fun and all; the employees SUCKED. That's really what made me want to quit. They treated customers poorly and treated one another poorly. People who weren't the boss wanted to be in charge and treat you like shit. They strictly hire "cute preppy girls" in my opinion they only hire girls or gay guys never have I ever seen a straight male working there and this is 2016 people... Come ON!! I visited this location and it has been the only one I have been to. The store overall was very nice, there was a lot to choose from. The only thing I would like would be to have larger sizes. I'm a big woman and the clothing was very limited. Outside of that, the staff was awesome and if y'all get bigger sizes let me know! :)
The staff is always really nice and am greeted whenever I go there. The prices are very reasonable and will definitely be shopping there again!!!

I tried the East Madison location today and brought in a car load of barely worn and new with tags clothing, shoes & purses. They handed me a flyer of what's "in style" according to them, about 80% of my haul matched the flyer EXACTLY. They only bought a couple items and the rest they said they couldn't resell. All of it was name brand too, excellent or new condition with no defects. I used to like Plato's closet until they started getting pickier with choosing clothes to buy. I have brought in clothes that literally have never been worn or worn only once and that was then I tried them on. I wish they would specify the exact reasons why they didn't buy your stuff instead of just saying "some of these styles are harder to sell blah blah blah". Love going to Plato's Closet! I can always find a new outfit without having to pay the extra markup price that we see at the mall. Also, the west side location as excellent customer service. I usually end up there by myself, and they are always so great at telling me what looks good and what I can match it with. A great place to go if you do not have an outfit to wear for your plans this weekend! Would definitely recommend.
