We have been to Kirkby Lonsdale many times, often 2 - 3 times a year for walking holidays and the December festivities. Flatric on his first visit. Madge a regular. We remember Plato's opening and have eaten here a lot and drunk a lot more. First stay here, very comfortable room overlooking Mill Brow. Two real ales today. A Windermere Pale, Collie Wobbles, 3.7% for me. Very enjoyable. Also a Wainwright Gold on handpump. Lovely service.
Well where do I start - WOW. The food is absolutely phenomenal. A small menu but surprisingly so much choice. We booked online without hassle, arrived and was greeted by Ben and shown to the table. My daughter is a vegetarian and there wasn’t any fish left but Ben picked up on that and straight away had a recommendation ready for her. We also wasn’t going to get a started but believe me when I say (from 2 big meat eaters) TRY THE CAULIFLOWER BRAVASS!!!
