What a place. A group of 14 of us stayed here and we were not disappointed. We had the whole place including the tower. Full of character and had everything we needed. A short walk into Barmouth for food and a pint was easy. The roof terrace watching the sun go down with a cold beer was a highlight. We’d defo come back. Joan was really helpful as well.
Visit here every easter with my family as part of a big group of people. The house is amazing - old, grand (we call it the castle) and beautiful with plenty of spots to hang out in with friends and family and amazing views across barmouth beach.
First time we went to Plas Mynach was in 2004 as a family group of 16 people. We had the most fantastic time and it left such an impression on us that we always wanted to return. It took some years, it return we did, to the apartment accommodation in the tower. The tower has a spiral staircase leading to a private roofspace where views across the Irish Sea and the mountains behind are marvellous. This is like a home from home. My favourite place to visit and stay. Amazing building combing stunning views, interior with rustic original walls and wood panelling. Listening to the sea as you fall asleep is a treat. I’m over there at least once a year for the last 15 years.
I love this place. We have visited with our whole family in the house and also as a couple in the separate tower appartment. Joan is a thoughtful and kind host and it just feels rather special. The house really is like a castle with large comfortable rooms and original features - we love the large open fires downstairs in the evenings and gathering around the huge kitchen table for meals.
