Occupying a historic 1929 building in popular Heritage Square, Pizzeria Bianco is one of the many establishments opened by celebrated chef Chris Bianco. As its name implies, the restaurant focus is pizza; with pies made with handcrafted mozzarella and topped with the finest produce from local sources. The restaurant has the classic Margherita or the slightly adventurous Rosa, made with onion, parmigiano, rosemary and AZ pistachios. The best time to visit is for lunch, because dinner service is usually crowded. If you are put... read more

Pretentious - sub par food and service – Although this restaurant obviously has followers in the press (for whatever reason), I found the whole experience very lacking. After reading the great review in the local paper we stood in drizzly weather for 90 minutes. The attitude of the hostess was very snooty, you would think you were trying to get into Le Chiquite' in Beverly Hills or something. They seated 45 people at once and the predictable slow service ensued. It took them 55 mintues to get a pizza on our table. The crust ... read more
My husband is a Neapolitan pizza connoisseur, so after finding this place, we were eager to validate the reviews. We waited 2 hours for a table. Next our waiter forgot to give us bread and olive oil with our antipasto despite my requests. Amazing how the waiters can be so service-challenged when the place has limited tables. We originally ordered 1 pizza and decided to order another. But our waiter told us we werent allowed to order more pizza. He said we had to get back into the line and wait another 2 hours! I have NEVER e... read more
Pizzaria Bianco is not a pleasant place to eat – We (4) arrived at 6:45 dinner (prepared to wait, have a glass or 2 of wine, etc.). The hostess was very unpleasant, told us the wait would be as much as 2 hr's. Barman next door was also unpleasant, looked as if it was an imposition to sell me 4 glasses of wine for $30.00. At 9:00 asked about being seated, told it would be in "10-15 minutes". Fuinally seated at 10:05 (restaurant closed at 10:00). Clearly trying to hustle us along, and out. Pizza was indifferent, service after ... read more
Perfect! – The Biancos have not only created the best pizza in Arizona, it's the best I've had. (And, yes, I've lived in Italy and New York.) First the service: For 2 years, I had to be in Phoenix every month, sometimes twice. By the 2nd time at Bianco, they remembered me, where I liked to sit -- eeverything. But even with that, the food is the reason to go. Italian/New York/Chicago, it's not about style preferences. The point is: Chris Bianco knows his oven (he built it, I think), knows his ingrediants and knows his craft. ... read more
Disappointing – Having heard so many wonderful things about Chef Bianco from colleagues in the culinary field whose opinion I respect, I had high hopes for a meal at Pizzeria Bianco. I was sorely unimpressed. I waited the requisite 1.5 hours at the cramped bar next door before being summoned to a seat at the bar. I looked at the small menu and decided on the classic Neopolitan pizza. The crust was not "cracker-thin" in the sense of crispy but rather was soggy and more the consistency of greasy construction paper. All I reall... read more
Great Place – After reading the reviews on this site, I had to check this place out. I arrived on a Friday night with one other person, and only had to wait 25 minutes. While waiting for the table, we went next door to the wine bar which was very relaxing. The pizza we had was wonderful and the service was great. Will be back!
The Best Pizza – Living on the west coast,Southern California, I have searched for the perfect pizza sincing leaving Connecticut , a state with the absolute best, Pepe's in New Haven. Well I found a very, very close second in Chris Bianco's spot in Phoenix ! It is great and what pizza should taste like, made with love, caring and the freshest ingredients, baked in a hot, wood burning oven. On every trip to Phoenix, I am always there and recommend to all I see. It is fantastic ! Thank you,Chris, for a bit of CT. A 10!
My wife and I have "taken the pizza" at all those sites which are listed before Bianco. None are even close to what Chris Bianco turns out - excellent crusts from the wood fired oven, his homemade cheese, the fresh arugala, the homemade sausage. Eating at Pizzaria Bianco is an experience. And I must mention Chris Bianco's homemake bread and the Garden Salads - they're excellent. My wife and I have tried all the others in your list (often two or three times - just to be sure that we didn't miss something that made us overly s... read more
Should Be Number 1 – Pizzeria Bianco should be the number one pizza place in Phoenix. The food is incredible, Chris makes practically everything from scratch. The waitstaff is awesome. Come on, how many pizza chef's win a James Beard Award. Definately not Pizza Hut. This place is worth the wait.
Pizzeria Bianco has a 4.4 star rating with 4,663 reviews.
