About this business

Occupying a historic 1929 building in popular Heritage Square, Pizzeria Bianco is one of the many establishments opened by celebrated chef Chris Bianco. As its name implies, the restaurant focus is pizza; with pies made with handcrafted mozzarella and topped with the finest produce from local sources. The restaurant has the classic Margherita or the slightly adventurous Rosa, made with onion, parmigiano, rosemary and AZ pistachios. The best time to visit is for lunch, because dinner service is usually crowded. If you are put... read more

Is a rude hostess part of the ambience? 6:30 Tuesday Oct 23 – With a friend from out of town we made the trip to Pizzeria Bianco. 6:30 October 23 We asked for a table for two and were told it was a 2 and 1/2 hour wait. I said "with a James beard award it must be worth a two hour wait." I thought this was a complement. The hostess in the most rude and snide tone said "if your going to be insulting, get your facts right, the award was four years ago." I said "I guess we'll try this another night" . Her response was "I didn't t... read more

Poor customer service. Don't bother waiting. – We arrived 15 min after the restaraunt opened and were informed there was an hour and a half to two hour wait. So, we reluctantly waited in the bar area. After an hour and a half, we asked the bar waitress to check on our status, she refused. She stated "she's usually right on when she quotes a time." Well, after two hours of giving our name, we asked ourselves, and were told it would be another 40 min. No way! NO pizza is worth that wait. I am from Boston, and have eaten wonder... read more

To Be Avoided. – Well, I see that absolutely nothing has changed with PB. Anyone who gives this place a "thumbs up" is clearly either just giving props because they know the owners or are truly ignorant of all things cultural. First thing's first !! PLEASE GET RID of that HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE bright white street light that overshadows this place with bad ambiance. THEN, get rid of the entire staff including the owner/cook. I went there several years ago and had the exact same rude greetings and Scottsdale-ish bad attitude from... read more

Pizza prepared with heart and soul – My husband and I absolutely loved this place. The owner really does put his heart into this precious establishment. The service was outstanding. The pizza was simple and delicious. The tomato basil salad was the best. His tomatoes red sweet and juicey. Mozarella was creamy and delicate. And the prices were great. The prices were comparable to CPK. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it.

not for me – After seeing this restaurant on "Oprah", I told my brother, who is in Phoenix regularly on business, to be sure and go eat there. He asked me for the address, but after reading the negative reviews, I decided to not recommend it to him. I would never send my brother to a place where people might be rude and snotty to him and over charge him for "average" pizza after he waited for 2 hours. Good grief, I agree with the person who said they would rather save their lire and go back to Italy for pizza. In Italy, dini... read more

YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING... – This is going to come off as arrogant and I don't mean it to but here goes. Anybody who thinks this pizza is qualified to be regarded as "the best of'" anything, clearly has never traveled beyond the perimeter of metro phoenix. This place is over priced, over hyped, and under executed. The margherita pizza is of EXACTLY the same quality as the frozen pizza at Trader Joes. I had the "sonny boy" which really should be called the "salty boy". Thick cut cured meats and olives tend to be a salty comb... read more

Delicious, but might not be worth the hassle – Opinions about this downtown establishment tend to split into two extremes: fans who love this restaurant and skeptics who think the food is certainly good but not worth the long wait. After several experiences at Bianco, I find myself among the skeptics. I have no complaint about the food, which is uniformly delicious and has wonderful sense of craft that infuses everything on the menu. Nevertheless, my time is precious to me, and I find that the Bianco ritual of lining up befo... read more

No pizza is worth this wait – There is no pizza on the planet worth the aggrevation of this place. Pizza is really good, but long waits, apathetic and arrogant staff and managers over ride what should be a quaint little pizza shop.
