I began Pilates to help with my sciatica. I have found that the stretching and gentle slow movements have completely removed the pain I originally had. Sally's instructions are clear and informative. The concentration needed means no other thoughts invade so a sense of calm and relaxation is experienced which carries on after class. I took up Pilates some time ago to increase my flexibility and fitness. I needed a class that was nearer to where I live, so decided to make a change. Sally’s class is local to me , which was my first priority. However, I soon discovered that her classes were just what I was looking for. I have been participating in Sally’s classes for over a year now following a back injury. When I was able to move more easily,I was anxious to do more to aid my recovery without exacerbating the injury. Sally’s Pilates classes have helped to achieve this aim. I am really enjoying my Pilates session with Sally. I t is my first experience of Pilates as my usual exercise is running or years back, Step Aerobics, complete with leggings! Sally offers a really structured session with episodes of instruction that carefully build up to the final movement. She demonstrates and models the exercise and gives clear verbal instruction. Sally's pilates class in Dore Old School is excellent. You quickly start to feel the benefits of weekly attendance. She designs each six week block of classes to give variety as well as build strength and flexibility. She is great at giving individual attention during classes to make sure you do it right and get maximum benefit. She is also very safety conscious and will always give advice and suggest adaptations to excercises for people with injuries and long standing conditions.
