Great doctor and wonderful staff!! Took the time to explain things to me. Very polite Dr and staff
Waste of my time, wait time is ridiculous and staff are unsympathetic. Waited 45 minutes for my first appointment. Waited over an hour my second appointment, and then they had the nerve to say I was a no show because I walked out. Horrible office management. I work in the health care field and know this is unacceptable!! I explained to the staff that I had to get home to attend to my children, and didn't even offer me the option to reschedule. I'll never go back.
My son had his very first surgical procedure done by Dr. Blume, He was very informative and had a great bedside manner. Everyone from the office staff to the surgical center staff were wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better doctor.
Waited over an hour to see Dr. Blume, no apology. Literally spent 5 minutes with me and 3 of those with him dictating notes to my virtual chart. Stated I needed orthotics yet no mention of these were mentioned on the discharge? I was felt to think I was a boring case that my issue was not glamorous enough...I would not recommend him.
I had a metal implant put in my big toe many years ago which over time became painful and shifted into my other toes and caused hammertoes and I couldn't wear shoe comfortably. Dr Blume had a team and removed the metal implant from my big toe and took a bone graft from my hip and put a plate in to fuse my big toe and fixed my hammertoes with wires. I went to the hospital (Yale New Haven) with a leg infection, the infection went down into my foot and pushed a huge bubble to the top of foot and then busted, this left a huge hole that traveled to another area on top of my foot, discussion of cutting off the top of my foot was pretty certain but Dr. Blume saved this from happening , it took 3 times of debridement and healthy skin and listening to what he told me to do and he saved my foot, alot of folks don't like his bedside manner but if that is what it took to save my f... read more
Warning, he doesn't do surgery, his residents (drs in training) do. He doesn't tell you this but turns his tools over to them as soon as you are asleep. I have a non union due to this. Scary and dishonest.
During a procedure for the insertion of a stint April 22, 2015 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, some plaque was knocked loose and migrated into the tips of three toes on my left foot, causing dry gangrene to develop. My podiatrist, Dr. Peter Blume, instituted a daily treatment of self-applied bandages with neosporin. He judiciously removed necrotic tissue every three weeks that allowed healthy tissue and skin to fill in and cover the pitted areas.
