I was referred to Dr. Blume from a top physician at Cornell Weill in NYC. I had a very rare condition called a glomus tumor in my toe. After suffering in severe pain for 5 years and seeing dozens of doctors in NYC I decided that making the trip from New York to see Dr. Blume would be my best bet. I have been seeing Dr. Blume for many years and have always been very happy with the quality of care in his office. Most recently, about four months ago, I had surgery for a heel spur and arthritis in my big toe. The heel scar is almost totally invisible, and the toe is totally and perfectly fused. I am impressed with both his vast knowledge and his caring nature.

I went to DR. Blume to take care of a bunion and hammer toe. Surgery and the experience around it were so positive I returned to have the other foot done also. He took the time to explore alternatives to surgery before making his recommendation. He was very knowledgable, citing current guidelines and research when answering questions. I didn't have a good experience with Dr. Blume who did a bunionectomy on one foot. My impression is that he is more interested in selling you surgery than helping you. He never suggested alternatives to surgery (orthotics or physical therapy) and downplayed the recovery period and risks. He said I'd be pain free and able to do anything except wear stilletto's. Dr. BLUME gave me the worst experience of my life, i asked to switch to a different doctor and he wouldnt let me. Said he would fix my toe and instead he took off my foot. When i asked him about it he basically said "too bad, you have diabetes". He never visited me once in the hospital and I stayed for 11 days. I wish i could go back in time and pick a different doctor

Two years ago I had a heel spur removed, an achilles tendon repair with reattachment,and heel bone reformed. It was a big surgery with a long recovery. I followed Dr. Blume's instructions to the letter and recovered well. I would do it again in a hot second.

My mom is a patient of Dr. Blume's and has received extraordinary care from him over the past year. He is thorough and extremely knowledgable and we are very grateful that we were referred to him.

Dr. Blume is full of himself. He is extremely arrogant, condescending, and rude. I definitely do not recommend going to him. After my bad experience, I asked my other doctors to recommend someone other than Blume and ended up with a great doc who does wonderful work. My new doc is humble, very knowledgeable, and has great bedside manner. So happy I switched!

I had surgery two times with Dr Peter Blume and neither ended up the way I thought they would. He then blamed me. No compassion for your pain and suffering. I think he is quick to surgery, especially in the Shoreline Medical Center that he partially owns. Shame on me, I then went back to him and received the same treatment and a poor diagnosis.
