I went to the hospital for a diabetic foot wound that became infected and went septic. I underwent several debridements that were sloppy and the outcome looked as if I would lose toes. Luckily I transferred to Yale Hospital and had Dr. Blume on the case. I immediately felt reassured with his residents and when I met Dr. Blume I was confident everything was going to be ok. I am happy to report incredible progress! It will take many months to completely heal but he saved my toes and I am truly grateful to him and his staff. Wh... read more
I had ankle pain for many years and treated with braces and injections with recurrent pain and saw numerous doctors to no avail until I was evaluated by Dr. Blume who diagnosed me with a cartilage defect in my ankle. I underwent an ankle arthroscopy with repair of cartilage. I am back to working out and cross training and no longer have any pain and therefore very grateful to Dr Blume for diagnosing and treating me so very well.
I had a terrible experience with him. I filed a complaint with the dept. Of public health.
Due to a car accident in May 1914, had a calcaneaus fracture Dr. Blume operated on 5/23. At the emergency room I was lucky enough to have his resident. Dr. Blume was on the phone with him and consulted. Too swollen to operate at that time. Dr. Blume saw me on 5/19 and operated on 5/23. Thanks to his care I have porgressed faster than expected. His staff at the ER, out-patient surgery center in Guilford, CT, and his office staff are exceptional.

He had developed neuropathy in his feet, and had at some point injured the right foot, and bones had broken inside the foot. Since he could no longer feel properly, these broken bones eventually pierced the skin and created a wound, which in turn became infected and septic and that is what led us to the emergency room in January. He nearly died that day. ... read more
He is the absolute best.
I had a very bad experience with him. So bad, I filed a complaint with the CT Department of Public Health. I do not recommend him.
The best!
After seeing six doctors across three countries over four years, I came to Dr. Blume. I finally felt as if I had found a doctor who listened to me and worked logically to diagnose my problem (a bone infection in the calcaneous from the metal screws following a previous achilles tendon repair). Unlike any of the other doctors I saw, he suggested a team approach, working with a plastic surgeon and infectious disease specialist, and ordered the proper set of tests to determine the course of action the team would take. The surge... read more
