Had a cat and dog insured for their entire life with one or two claims then my children’s father (policy owner) passed away suddenly. They wouldn’t speak with the executors then cancelled the policies. Now they have said we need to start a new policy with waiting periods but our poor cat is 12 so they won’t cover her. They were heartless and rude given the distress on the children is already enough but then to cancel the policy and refuse to transfer it to the estate is just nasty and cold. We have been with this pet insurer for many years; however, our recent experience has been quite disappointing. Our premiums have increased significantly over time, with the most recent being an increase of 23% in one year. This level of increase is difficult to justify, particularly for long standing customers, and the premium will only continue to rise even further.
