Slow. Gave me wrong tracking number. Bad customer service.
Asked for a tire patch and the associate who worked on my wheels was careless when remounting the tire. There's a missing scratch on the outer edge of the wheel that I PROVED to the manager with a photo taken before the work was done and they claim that it was my driving. Absolutely irresponsible about their own mistakes. The wheel will cost around $160 to repair and I have to get an estimate from a body shop to go through their claims process because the manager refuses to accept responsibility. They were supposed to clean my headlights but instead failed to do it twice. When I took it back the second time they made a mess of my engine and the headlights, and scratched my front bumper all over the place. They suggested I buy new headlights for a car that was less than 3 years old when I brought it in! I took my car to a reputable body shop and they were able to restore my headlights in 2 hours and apologized for the terrible work that Pep Boys did. This place had my vehicle for 7 hours and $841.00 the air conditioner still wasn't working. The staff was very rude when we got upset because they said the part they needed wouldn't be in till the next day. I was traveling to Florida so I needed to get back on the road.I feel I was scammed by the tech!
I went to Pep boys to get my oil changed, which they took care of easily and quickly. The guy tried to sell me on new tires by lying to me by saying my tread was at a 2, when they weren't even at a 5. Shortly after getting my oil changed, I began having the check oil light come on when my car would idle. I took it in, and they said it would resolve it self over th enxr few days. On 24 May 2017, my daughter Dominique M*****, was traveling home from college in Jackson, Mississippi to Augusta, Georgia to attend her brother's high school graduation. Her vehicle over heated on Interstate 20 around Bessemer, Alabama. Pep Boys sold me an unneeded new battery! Instead of looking over the whole car engine, they kept their attention on the narrow assertion that I needed a new battery when what the car really needed was OIL! After 6pm when my Chrysler Sebring convertible stopped dead 50 miles away from home and my regular auto mechanic, I had it towed to the only place open: Pep Boys: Atlantic and Pomona in East Los Angeles. I received a coupon through email regarding a $19.99 oil change special the company was running. I set an appointment for 7pm today. Upon arriving to the Pep Boys, I was greeted by John who had no record of the appointment I set. He asked me to reschedule because they were closing in an hour. If you want to get ripped off you'll have your automotive repairs done here! I had my water pump replaced in Nov. of 2015. I go in to find out that it needs to be replaced again according to them. Get this. The water pump has a lifetime warranty on the part but the service doesn't. The service came out to $288 dollars -- gets better. They will waive the service fee if i have them work on another job that they suggested (the air condenser) for $1100. I told them just give me my part that is warrantied and they refused.
