History Established in 2013. Penny's Pit was built from the ground up and is family owned and operated. Ryan and Christina Klundt, along with Christina's father David and sister Nichole started Penny's with minimal savings and income, without any business loans.David came up with the name "Penny's Pit" after Christina and Ryan's pit bull dog Penny. Visiting friends here in Rathdrum from Southern California. My husband and I loved our burgers, fries and onion rings!! Our waiter, Zack was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed despite how busy the place was. We will be back for sure!! Highly recommend the Blue Onion on Rye bread (special request) by myself. But, I’m sure it’s just as tasty served the regular way.
After living here for nearly two years and driving by Penny’s Pit quite frequently, my family and I stopped in. So. Delicious! Probably one of my favorite mushroom burgers EVER. The onion rings are nice and crispy. And the service is phenomenal. Only complaint we have are the short hours.
