I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here — it’s the perfect spot for a weekend getaway, especially if you’re planning to climb Snowdon, with the trail starting right at your doorstep. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the whole experience was fantastic. Stayed as part of a group booking, made by friends for their celebration. Had a fantastic time! The hotel staff were great in every respect, food was delicious and the whole group was served at once with incredible efficiency. Fantastic place if you like your mountains. Rooms are basic in facilities but very clean and in keeping with the feel of the hotel being authentic and not flash. Food was fab, good portions, loads of veggies and the sticky toffee pudding definitely sticks to the ribs! All cooked in the kitchen and not prepackaged like in other hotels. Lovely staff too, very friendly and attentive. Well worth popping in for a drink if you don’t have the time to stay
Our first visit for probably 10 years but the Pen y Gwryd still has that wow factor. Forgetting the Hillary and Everest associations, this hotel is the ultimate base for walkers and climbers exploring Eryri. What it lacks in facilities it makes up for in its setting, it's ever-attentive staff and some very fine food. Diolch o galon.
