After much debate, I had Dr. Calat do a Coronectomy (removal of the entire tooth crown, leaving the root in place) two years ago. I had an oozing wisdom tooth, with the facial nerve intertwined with the root, making full extraction risky. I live upstate, and saw 3 oral surgeons here, all of whom were against the procedure. But the constant oozing caused me concern, and so finally I saw Dr. Calat, who had done many of these procedures. Dr. Calat did the job. Implants. A work in progress. I thought in my mind that I would be out of it after the procedure. Sure there was some soreness, but not even the drug taking kind. I went to work the next day. I just recently had a wisdom tooth extracted by Dr. Calat. It was a wonderful experience. Dr. Calat is very soft spoken and friendly. He fully explained to me what the surgery would entail and made sure that I was fully informed before starting the process. The surgery itself was fairly painless and his staff was really helpful and nice. The only small problem I had with my experience at Dr. Calat's was the office building; he shares it with a community college and the elevator was packed when I was there with students. Dr. Calat is the best oral surgeon I have ever visited. He was extremely personable & professional and my extraction was virtually painless. Staff was truly amazing as well. What a great experience. I would definitely recommend him to anyone!
Dr. Calat pulled out my 4 wisdom teeth and the service was great. I was able to listen to any music that I wanted to during the procedure and the doctor was very informative.

Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Calat was an awful one. I chose him because he had the best reviews online but to he honest I am surprised myself. He is polite and explains things nicely but to me the most important thing is trust. I felt that all Dr. Calat wanted was to make quick money from me and he didn't really care about the patient. Dr. Calat is one of my favorite doctors. He did tooth extraction and dental implant for me last year. I had several visits with him during the seven months period and really appreciate his outstanding surgeon skills. The pain for both procedures were minimum and recovery was fast too. I wish that he is my general dentist or physician! He is the only out of network doctor I use and definitely worth the extra I have to pay. I highly recommend him to whoever is looking for an oral surgeon! You will be happy with Dr. Calat.
