Great Color Knowledge! – I think Parlor is a great salon! I really enjoyed the staff and the mellow atmosphere. I went there to retouch my color with the color specialist, Leah. It was my first time going to Leah, and I was really impressed!! She took the time to talk to me about what I liked and disliked about my hair, and what I really wanted. Great haircut! – I walked in today and was lucky enough to get an appointment immediately. The stylist, Sarah, was fantastic - we talked over what I wanted, and even though I was really vague, she got it perfectly. It's flat-out the best, most flattering haircut I've ever had. Sarah is awesome, and I can't recommend her or Parlor highly enough.
User review by cathyj – I love this place. I searched for years to find a salon in NYC that was relaxed, friendly, hip and stress free. This is it. The staff are always on time, the cuts and colors are fantastic quality and the whole experience is always a joy. For some reason I want to add that I always feel like it's a pro-women place. That's hard to qualify but I have seen a whole range of ages, shapes and sizes come in and everyone is treated with care and attention.
MY HAIR LOOKS AMAZING! – My cousin has been telling all about how fabulous Leah Helman (color specialist and extension artist) is, so i finally made an appointment for the other day and all I can say is WOW! Not only was she inexpensive and talented, she was speedy too. Not only did she color my whole head she even did highlights, and all that was before she put extentions in. When she was finished I was blown away by how beautiful and natural my hair looked. A+ for LEAH HELMAN!
LEAH IS THE BEST COLORIST EVER!!!!!!!!! – All I can say is that LEAH IS AMAZING! I have never had someone color my hair so good. She was quick, efficant, and professional. I went from having dark brown hair all my life to blonde. I was worried but it came out GREAT! Now every time I go back it just keeps looking better. Everyday I get compliments on my color. Take my advice GO TO LEAH HELMAN and you'll never go anywhere else!
felt more comfortable here than anywhere, ever! – Bettina gave me an amazing haircut last month and I just discovered this place -- I'm not surprised it has such great reviews here. The atmosphere is sublime - I can hardly wait 'til I need another cut -- I wanna go every week! Tina made me feel like a princess and gave me the perfect cut that fits both my look and my personality. Yay - I'd recommend this place to any good friend.
Found my stylist in Betina L. – I was recommended from a friend of mine to Betina and she is truely a rising star in the hair industry. Great cut, great service and an excellent price. She is not only a great hair dresser she is also a really sweet girl with a great style. she has a great gift cutting hair and styling. Thank you Betina for my HAPPY hair.
Traumatic experience – I made an appointment at Parlor specifically asking the receptionist to recommend a stylist who is good at long, layered cuts. I was referred to Betina, whom I was told is fairly new to the floor. In the chair, I mentioned that I have always had long hair and really wanted to keep it that way. For this cut, I wanted long, sexy, Victoria's Secret flowing hair. I said I would only be comfortable with up to 3 inches cut off.
