Very lovely peaceful gardens, mostly informal, you will hardly encounter anyone else and most will be dog walkers. Entry fee is quite cheap at £6. Cafe was closed due to staffing issues, which is a great loss to visitors, I'm sure many will come because there is a cafe on site. Pity the house isn't in a condition to be open. If you want an hour or so of peace, you'll find it here.

Lovely place to walk through woodland and explore the paths that wind through. The garden was designed, and some of the features were built to occupy the children of the family who owned it. This felt like a real hidden gem, such a gorgeous area to be explore and, despite it being English half term and knowing there were plenty of English tourists about, it was nearly empty! Would definitely recommend. Keep in mind the black cat cafe may not be open even if the gardens are, perhaps the website needs to highlight this as we’d planned to go there

You now have to pay to get in. Although it's not great, the place is beautiful. Genuinely a place to make a picnic for, romantic days in the sunshine, or just a family day out. If you enjoy history and beauty or just to sit in beautiful gardens it's a must go. Dogs must ne kept on a leash at all times. I find that a reasonable rule considering how popular it is with dog walkers.
