This small, somewhat eccentric café is a local favorite. The décor is certainly part of the café's charm- bright primary colors abound, the thrift store furniture is mismatched; mannequins, dolls and other toys decorate the window sills, walls and even the ceiling. But it's the food that keeps the locals coming back. It's a terrific blend of traditional home cooking and lighter vegetarian fare. The French toast (served all day) is one of the city's treasures.

It was my first time visiting and I must say the restaurant had amazing decorative appeal! It had a pretty wide range of food options and I really liked that. I had the lox omelette, with a side of grits. I wasn't so pleased with the fact that my lox were fully cooked by the time I got my meal, and the grits weren't good at all. Aside from that, A lovely experience overall, and a great server.
I love the decor and the food was great, but prices are rather high. The owner (I think) was less than friendly - never smiled, never said hello or goodbye, was consistently rude. I'll go back, but I wouldn't make it a regular spot.
Loved the atmosphere, far from ordinary, the food was delicious, the staff was polite and efficient. We throughly enjoyed our visit. It is pricy, but for the experience it was worth it. We love experiencing new places, and we were not disappointed. The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but some of the best places to visit are out of comfort zones. Just go and enjoy the experience.
Food was ok to above average. I ordered the steak wrap which came warm not hot; cheese didn’t melt. I also ordered a side of grits that came warm with shredded cheese not melted. Maybe I am cheese snob but I don’t think it is too much to ask for melted cheese. I could live with all of that but the service was subpar and probably the most notable isssue with this restaurant. I ordered a milk shake and never received it; server heard the order and asked if I wanted chocolate or vanilla ice cream but no milkshake for me. I know... read more
One of my favorite places to go!! The atmosphere is refreshing, there is always something new to look at and the food is amazing!!
Rudest, most obnoxious owner! She took our drinks away before we were finished, wagged the bill in our faces and tossed a filthy, wet rag onto our table before we had even left. We were rushed the entire time. The staff were nice but seemed miserable. Mediocre food. Not worth the trip.
I love the atmosphere, the toys are so cool. The food is great
To-die-for breadpudding, sweet and delicously crisp salads, and omlettes with portabellas that will melt in your mouth!! Not to even get started on the milkshakes!
Parking is easy... delicious food...reasonably priced...
