I had a recent surgery at Palms West Hospital via the ambulatory surgery center. Although surgery is never pleasant, my experience with all of the staff was. I first want to thank Dawn, who greeted me so kindly and made me feel comfortable on my preop and surgery days. I would not recommend this hospital to the devil himself, if you're a black person with sickle cell or other illnesses this hospital is not for you. They will laugh and mock your pain and act as if you're wasting their time. A friend of mine who is a Physician Assistant with sickle cell went to this hell hole and the way they treated is appalling, disgusting, and unacceptable!!! They were so condescending, cruel and unprofessional!!!

Worst experience of my life! I have reported this to the director and will follow up with letter to appropriate department. Being called a meth addict because the nurses were incompetent with how to control my pain for 7 mm kidney stone that took 28 days, 200k and 4 surgeries to get out! My pain was 9/10 for 3 straight days. I have pictures of my board and documented everything! Palms West is responding and they are doing an investigation and keeping in touch with me. Shame on you guys for the way that the poor lady with sickle cell anemia was treated. As a registered nurse & a student registered Nurse Anesthetist, I can’t recall learning in nursing school that patients (REGARDLESS OF THEIR BACKGROUND) should be mocked or dismissed while in pain. Your staff has got to step it up and PROPERLY serve the community of people who walk through your doors.
I hope y’all get SHUT DOWN!!!! During times like this where African Americans are fighting for equal rights and to be treated with the same respect as our counter parts y’all have employees treating individuals SEEKING HELP with ZERO respect. SHAME ON YALL!!! Every staff member on duty last night needs to INVESTIGATED and you owe the public an explanation for why this happened and how you plan to make sure it NEVER happens again!!!!!!!!! NEVER!!
