We are relatively new to Los Angeles and would not have thought about the Pacific Dining Card had I not found a Groupo offer. We went on Sunday for lunch before the opera. Old school, old money 95 year old restaurant that I hadn't been to in 40 years and it hadn't changed. Everything but my fillet was great. Veal shop, crab cakes, gratin scalloped potatoes all excellent. But for a steak house, my steak was overcooked and not as tender as prime beef should be. Probably should have sent it back. Be prepared to be shocked at the prices. Wedge salad $30. Crab salad $40. Entrees $65- $85+. But very good overall. Old school experience.

Mediocre food at outrageous prices. Ive had many $60+ steaks in the past, id say these are comparable to a $30-40 steak.....

It's been 30 years, when we were dating, and my husband and I decided to revisit this place and bring our 23 year old daughter. The ambiance is aged and rich with tradition that can only develop over the 96 years of its existence - not a modern motif at all, but warm, cozy, yet elegant.
