A magical meal was to be had on a hot Sunday afternoon, sitting in a cool, elegant dining room with soft light, crisp linens, impeccable service, and food from heaven's kitchen! Ours was a spur of the moment nostalgia visit because my husband used to have an office on Wilshire Blvd. and would occasionally have lunch at Pacific Dining Car. What a comfort to walk in and be warmly greeted by every staff member as they came by! We made up our minds to have prime rib, their specialty, but when my husband learned that Sand Dabs were on the menu, he changed his mind because Sand Dabs are not found on many menus.
