The price of the services depends on the individual stylist's rates, but haircuts start at $40, coloring at $60 and perms at $85. They also specialize in Fudge dyes, which can transform your tresses into shades of deep-sea blue or hot and wild red. Included in every service is a free and magnificent head massage.
Amy is the Best! – So I went to Oxenrose after having had a few disapointing highlight jobs done somewhere else. I was nervous, because I kept hating my hair each time I left the salon. Finally! Amy at Oxenrose gave me the greatest highlights ever! She is a genius and I almost gave her a hug. Everyone there is amazing and so nice. I swear they offered me something to drink five times and the D.J. there made the whole experience complete. I would recommend this salon and Amy in particular to anyone and everyone!
Fab haircut and Fab hair color!! – What else can we say about Oxenrose that others have not already said? Well just FAB! The new location is fantastic, lofty looking place with very cool art hanging on the walls, avangard decor, funky looking fixtures and hip crowds. A mix of bar/gallery/cafe/salon. Perfect! I have been getting haircuts with Hector for at least 5 years now and my loyalty to his skills is 150%. I have gotten fantastic haircuts all the time, everytime!
Not for Fine Hair – I called the saloon ahead of time to make my first apointment I have extreamly fine hair which for a decent cut requires a professional that is knowlageable about fine hair. They said all of are stylest are tallented in all types of hair. I was given Masaki they said he is very tallented in fine hair and will be able to give you what you are looking for, I wanted a short fun cut I look like a boy and my hair is even flatter then when i had it long. Fabulous Cut by Rachel – After living in the city for over 3 years and experimenting with several stylists, I have finally had my first "hairgasm." Rachel didn't just trim my hair, she brought it back to life! What she was able to do with my hair amazed me and I walked out feeling like a different person! Fun atmosphere, very busy, good cut – I must admit, I was skeptical. I heard it was the hottest place in town, and I was sure they were going to charge a crazy price. Happily it was only $50, plus tip. I had Rachel, she totally took her time, and because it was the first time in years I cut my hair above my shoulders, she walked me through it and was always asking if she had gone short enough. Going downhill – I have been going to the same stylist at Oxenrose for over 3 years, but as they get more publicity and more hype, everything is going downhill. At my last appointment (which may prove to be my *last* appointment), I was kept waiting for 35 minutes. Worst hair experience ever! – I don't care if they have a nice environment or serve you beverages. When I pay to get my hair cut, I want a decent cut. Besides, do kitschy mirrors shaped like rockets actually _enhance_ the environment? I had a horrible experience where the stylist did exactly the opposite that I asked for, and I too ended up with a soccer mom bob.
