i had been growing out my hair and called oxenrose. i went to regina. she saw my sleeve of tatoos and asked me if i wanted to do something wild and suggested a mohawk. not only did she give me a tall spikey perfect mohawk, she colored it with three shades of red and blonde and then gave me the right product to use on it. from the front and the side, especially, it is totally pro. they're not pretentious there, and their work is perfection. i also got jacked on coffee.
Props for Brian – I've had waist-length hair on and off for years, but Brian convinced me that it was time for a change. He gave me a very layered short cut in a chocolate brown color, and EVERYONE (including me!) loved it. I haven't had hair shorter than my shoulders in about 15 years, but I'm making another appointment with him to cut it short again. What's better -- there was absolutely NO pressure to buy products.
I would recommend it in a heartbeat... – I had trouble finding a stylist I trusted since moving here from NY. I found a few who could even mess up a trim. BUT NOT HERE AT OXENROSE. Brian is so great that I trusted him to chop 7 inches off. I love my new hair cut and I love the staff here. Its affordable and hip. I highly recommend it!
brian rocks – i have thick, heavy asian hair that's usually really hard to style. prior to the cut, my hair was weighed down on top and frizzy at the ends (from overuse of thinning shears). after the cut, my hair is smooth yet texture-y, flowy, and has got lots (!) of volume and great shape. i got exactly what i wanted. it's been a few weeks since the cut and it still looks great, even when i don't style it.
best haircut ever! – Charles is absolutely fabulous! I've been to so many expensive, crappy salons in the city, I'm so happy that I finally found one that I love. And now that I found Charles, I'm never going anywhere else.
excellent cut – cool and hip and friendly. i recommend pearlyn (miss p). she's got a great eye and gave me an amazing cut. i've never gotten so many compliments before.
Great Color/Cuts – I am new to SF and was very nervous about trying a new stylist. I have been going to Hector and he is great. He does a fantastic job with color and is always right on when it comes to 'consultative' styles. The price is VERY reasonable and I can always make appointments within a week.
don't trust anyone else! – I moved to the SF from LA about two years ago and would not trust anyone wiuth my hair. I would have to fly down to LA and get it cut every now and then! I experimented with several places and found that Oxenrose pleased me the best and the most. I haven't gone anywhere since.
hip hair salon – All the stylists are hip on the latest cuts...dress hip and there is great music throughout. My stylist, Paul gives the best shampoos/head massages and never fails to offer tea or coffee. Its always a fun esxperience at OxenRose
