The Neighborhood Salon – funky atmosphere, nice head massages, cool and hip but very friendly, like a neighborhood bar except it's a hair salon.

Hairgasmic – James did wonders with my unruly curly locks and gave me a divine layered cut. Blew dry my hair pin straight and then flat ironed it... It was amazing... Also educated me on the benefits and problems with the YUKO straigthening system.... Great cut!

Charles knows curly hair! – I've been going to Charles for haircuts the last 2 years and he's great! He knows how to cut and style curly hair very well. He gives a great head massage, always offers a coffee drink and takes great care of me.

Love it!!! – Oxenrose is a great salon! It's cheaper in comparison to other high end salons and the people are great. Gene is a great stylist who does not hesitate to take the time to do a great job. He's great with color and scissors.... and super friendly too! A free head massage comes with the whole deal which is even more reason to go. Appointments can sometimes be difficult to get.

You need to go see Lizzy! – I recently moved to SF and was in need of a good hairdresser. A friend recommended Oxenrose, so I gave it a chance. I got an appointment with Lizzy. She was amazing! The color was far better than anything I ever had when I was living in New York. She is soooooo good. I can't recommend her strongly enough. If you are in need of a hair miracle, go see Lizzy!

J is wonderful – I'm incredibly vain about my hair and am extremely picky about the slightest alterations of style, color, etc. I went to J with all sorts of demands to fix a bad haircut and he was great. That was almost a year ago and he has been cutting and coloring my hair since - I get so many compliments on my hair it's amazing. J is the best!

J is the best! – I recently moved to the city, and was scared to death to go to a new hairstylist. My hair is VERY important to me! I checked on this site, and I decided to go to Oxenrose. J loved the cut and color I already had, he just made it even better. Now people either drop their jaws in envy, or come up to me and complement how cool my hair is. Everyone is SO FRIKKIN NICE there! They all welcomed me to the city. J is so talented that he recently had to move an appointment I had because I was called to do a Christian ... read more

go to Charles! – I've been going to Oxen Rose for over a year and a half. I was recommended to Charles by a friend of mine and now three of my friends go to him. Not only is he funny but he does a great cut. For those of you that don't know the different styles, Oxen cuts in a TiGi style, which is a more natural organic cut. The other style of cut is vidal sassoon, which is very precise and clean, not very 'In.'

great experience every time – Oxenrose is one of the best salons in SF. I've been going there for the last year or so, and am never dissapointed. The place is stylish, always active, with upbeat house music in the background, and the first thing you experience is the most soothing head massage, as they wash your hair. I get my haircut from Hakkee, who is very good stylist, and one of the funniest, and most laid back people I've met. In short, very FUN every time.
