The communication between the doctors, then communication from doctor to patient is a joke. I don't beleive the doctors review medical records properly... example: sir, do you know you are passing blood in your urine? How long has this been going on? Been happening since MARCH, think it has anything to due with the cancer...? Been told off & on for 6 days that a heart cath was gonna be done, not done, done, not done....sometimes the info varies from morning to afternoon. Beautiful Hospital, very clean and modern. Horrible parking! The doctors in the Purple Team need to work on their people skills. I don't feel as if my medical concerns are taken seriously.
ER was absolutely terrible. I could barely walk. Dr in ER asked what's wrong, I have herniated disk. His response was, "oh, like all of us have". He said are you willing to have surgery if we find something with MRI. I said no. He replied, "oh well, we're not gonna was $1k on an MRI if you won't have surgery. " he told nurse to give me two shots and he was done. This was the worst flare up I had ever had. Also had a PA tell me that I needed to get a new job if I didn't want to live in a trailer all my life. GARBAGE!
I have been fighting with VA for years over benefits that is due to me because the doctor failed to inform me of my illness. I just experience the same thing at the VA yesterday. I wonder how many more Veterans out there that are experiencing the same. I now have to pay for a Doctor outside of the VA to examine me and to document everything so that I can submit it to the Medical Board in Washington DC. Meantime I am still waiting on the Veterans Review Board in New Orleans, Louisiana to rule on my appeal after the review Boa... read more

The staff here was wonderful! From the admission clerks to the housekeeping staff. Pleasant and professional.
My husband uses OB VA for all his heart issues. We are always treated great there!
My dad has been having problems from a colostomy surgery that the VA sent him to university health because of the amount of cancer he had therefore we going to there for treatment. He has very very bad infection and university health sent him home with antibiotics. I carried him to the VA and they said his infection is so bad they admitted him within 2 hrs of getting there, we can not ask for better treatment.
I have had great service from Overton Brooks hospital!!
