RecommendedOne week until I go on my 6th trip, I think back on the very first trip I took with them. It is a great way to start traveling as a single with a sharp learning curve. Enjoy every minute of it.
Learning history, geography, cultural differences, seeing fantastic sights and places I've never seen before, learning different customs, their arts and crafts and, of course, only eating the different foods in each country or continent.
Small groups and special experiences, nice accomodations, GREAT trip leaders, easy communication, thorough preparation.
Terrible Customer service. I am a nine time traveler, with two more trips booked. However, I am appalled at their customer service. I referred my closest friends to them and they booked a trip quite some time ago and paid in full at that time.. Then OAT changed the travel dates, and the change is costing my friends thousands of dollars. Although OAT caused the problem, they would not budge in their absorbing some of this increased cost. I am scheduled for a trip with OAT in a few months. I have a question, so I called the customer service #. I have now been on hold for one hour. The last two times I called, I gave up after 30 minutes. This time I have no choice but to stay on hold. They answer the phone right away when you call the sales number, but service after the sale? Non-existent!
I have been happy with them in the past, but their customer service has gotten so poor. I was just on hold for over an hour to ask about a future trip I booked with them. I finally gave up. There was no email address to quietly complain,. So, I'm posting this.
Good travel company
Trips may be amazing, but there is no loyalty. Just got a call about a trip booked 18 months early and the price is going up by $300 per person; there are 3 of us traveling, so that's $900. For my money I get to go to a tango lesson I don't want (did this already in Buenos Aires) and travel on an airline with more restrictive luggage weights. Was just on the phone with Haley, an AIR specialist who helped me changed our itinerary from Kenya to Tanzania �. And helped me further with our other trips we have lined up: Northern Italy and Panama City. Such patience, friendliness and giving me options to make our flight(s) comfortable. Plus updates and checked that our account is in order. Spent more than 2 hours plus a 3 way call so our friends will have plane seats across us.
